Ms.Anjan Shakya (Ph.D) is a Member of National Assembly of Nepal. She served the nation asthe Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nepal to the State of Israel. She was aBoard Member of Prime Ministerial Advisory Council for Promotion of Industry and Commerce. She was a Deputy Executive Director at the Institute of Foreign Affairs, Nepal. Also, she was a Chairperson of International Concern Center Nepal (ICC). She used to operate training and orientation program for the governmental officials and others on the issues of foreign affairs, economic diplomacy, hydel diplomacy, tourism, trade, labor, women empowerment etc. She also used toorganize seminars, workshops, conferences on bilateral, regional, international and national issues. She has published several books, reports, journals, souvenirs such as 'Foreign Policy of Nepal: Challenges and Opportunities', 'Vision on Foreign Affairs', Nepal-China Relations, Nepal-India Relations, Nepal-Japan relations, Nepal-Germany Relations, Nepal-IsraelRelations. She pursued her Ph.D. in Management from Tribhuvan University (TU), Nepal. Before this, she was a Professor at Presidential Business School (Westcliff University, California, USA). She was a lecturer of Padma Kanya Multiple College, TU, Nepal. She has been involvedin various leading organizations and professional responsibilities for more than two decades. Dr. Shakya was a Chairperson of Women Chamber of Commerce, Executive Member of Nepal Chamber of Commerce. She has been affiliated with civic, public and international organizations such as Life Member of Nepal Council of World Affairs (NCWA), Nepal Cancer Relief Society and Rotary Club. She was a newsreader in government owned Nepal Television and a board of director in Maitri FM. She is a renowned singer of Nepal and has sang more than 100 songs in Nepali and Newari languages some of which are still popular amongst Nepali people of all agegroups. For a range of social works, she is honored by many national level awards like Nepal BidhyaBhusan, Jana Sewa Sri Padak third, Jana Sewa Sri Padak forth, Gorkha Dakshin Bahu, etc. and felicitated by more than fifty social and non-she achieved the governmental organizations. Recently, "Ambassador/Diplomat of the Year 2019/2020" by Ambassdors' Club of Israel. title She was a delegation member of the State Visitsofthe Prime Minister (late) Mr. Girija Prasad Koirala to India and Rt. Hon'ble Prime Minister Mr. K. P. Sharma Oli to China and to India. Her Husband is Dr. Ajaya Kranti Shakya, Former Minister of Internal Affairs, Communication and Law in Bagmati Province.
